Phantom was a ghost of a show
I was in the sixth row almost center. At times the actors could not be heard over the music. Before the show they announced several replacement actors for the usual leads. All of those performances were fantastic and that is why I returned on Sunday for yet a fourth time. In the office scene, I could not understand one word being sung by any of the actors that were on stage. I hope the show is better when all of the principal actors are in residence. I had a great seat. I was actually bored and very disappointed. I don't know if I will see Phantom again in Orlando. Once in Tampa and the other two times at Bob Carr. I can understand replacing maybe one show, two if need be but not three or more. Too many as it turned out. I was not drawn into the characters as I have been in the past. For me, most of the actors were not believable. I actually left at intermission and did not return. It was muddled and the music was drowning them out.
